Why does the industry suck right now?
I wouldn’t say this industry sucks, I think it’s in a transitional stage. I can’t say I’ve really been inspired by what I see right now. I think the universe is on a tilt. We may be witnessing the beginning of the end.
Do you give a fuck?
I do. Sometimes. But only for those who give a fuck about me. But I wouldn’t mind watching it all get flushed down the toilet. So maybe I don’t.
How is Brooklyn treating you?
Brooklyn gave me life and feeds me everyday. So I have to show love and give blood. I love her dearly.

5th Column Spring is entitled III [There Will Be Blood] and includes III shirts that will be sure to piss someone off for no good reason. Its reality TV without the TV. The Zodiac tee is for the Bay Area for obvious reasons, the Malcolm X tee is a dedication to an American hero (the anniversary of his death is in February), and the Flea is your new best friend. We got in some tee’s from II as well, Vengeance is mine is an ode to a Japanese movie about real life serial killer Akira Nishiguchi and Project Mayhem is an obvious reference to Fight Club. The People’s Army 5-panel has a lining so crazy it’ll make your head fall off.

5th Column is one of my favorite brands, actually, it is my favorite brand, i’m not just biased either. They are headquarted in Red Hook Brooklyn, NY and is the brain child of Jason Calabretta. The influence of Mr. Calabretta has been felt in many different circles and there’s a high chance he is responsible for one or more of your favorite tee’s. He’s also an accomplished photographer who has shot some of your favorite photos. So, defend Brooklyn, defend our culture, spread the flea, teach children to worship Satan, and find out what is really in Room 237. Educate yourselves.

Amongst Friends NYC have really come a long way in the short time they’ve been around. Their cut and sew program is one of the best out of the newish brands within this industry and they really do the schoolboy look very well. Their stuff fits amazing and their stuff is sure to be in your wardrobe for a long time. The Bellport Deck Jacket looks to be made out of a chambray and has a contrasting white zipper and button details. The fit is on point and its a perfect lightweight jacket for Spring. We paired that with the Ardsley buttondown that has the perfect shade of navy blue. If you want to get dapper we topped that off with the Gatsby cap.

Hellz Bellz is undoubtedly one of our favorite Womens brands and even though we don’t have many choices for the ladies, we are honored to carry Hellz Bellz. Lanie and Bam Alabanza have done an amazing job building the brand and lately they’ve gone more contemporary than street but their clothes and the details are still amazing!

Spring 2010 from one of our favorite NY brands MISHKA! We got in some classic bear mops, one is a play off Joy Division’s iconic album “Unknown Pleasures.” If you aren’t familiar click that link and read up…and listen. The Keaton striped buttondown and the Daltrey plaid are just classic buttondowns with some nice detailing. The Keaton chest pocket has contrast stripes and different color than the buttondown itself. The daltrey plaid has a hidden chest pocket. The greatest thing is that they fit PERFECT in our opinion.
The keaton is paired with our new shipment of Clae Rollins Hi’s. 100% perforated leather with a contrasting tan leather on the inside. The Daltrey plaid we paired with the Clae Zissou’s that is just a really nice casual low top. Almost similar to a deck shoe.
